I build old inventions to see how dangerous they are

In this latest video I decide to revisit bizarre public-submitted “life hacks” from 1910 and test whether these spring-powered inventions were forgotten engineering genius… or just ideas scribbled down on a napkin after one too many drinks. That led to me attempting to build an emergency siphon hose from springs and oil cloth, recreating a self-feeding candle that may or may not qualify as a fire hazard, and turning an ordinary bicycle into something that looked deeply unsafe from the moment it left the shed.

What surprised me most was how creative these old designs actually were. Even when the ideas were flawed, you could still see the inventiveness behind them. Some felt completely impractical, while others made me wonder why nobody ever developed them further. If you want to see which inventions actually worked, which nearly became disasters, and which one earned a perfect five-mustache rating, the full video is worth a watch.
